April warmth is pausing due to the arrival of the powerful cyclone Rapunzel from the Baltic Sea. Forecasters predict night frosts, sleet, and dangerous storm wind gusts in most regions.

In the coming days, a cooling is expected in Ukraine. According to meteorologist Natalka Didenko, on April 8-9, precipitation in the form of wet snow is likely, and at night, frosts are possible in most regions, except for the south.
According to Didenko, special attention should be paid to the strong north-westerly wind, whose speed will reach 15-20 meters per second. However, as the meteorologist emphasizes, this period will be short – stable warming is predicted by mid-month (from April 14-15).
In turn, the head of the Cherkasy Regional Hydrometeorological Center, Vitaliy Postrygan, emphasizes that a cool air mass is currently changing.
“The rapid dipping cyclone ‘Rapunzel’ is moving from the Baltics towards the Middle Volga,” the meteorologist noted.
Postrygan warns that from April 7 to 9, cloudy, windy, and cold weather will prevail, with intermittent rain and even wet snow. According to the forecaster, the air temperature during the day will fluctuate between +3 and +8 degrees Celsius, with frosts down to -3 degrees Celsius possible on the ground at night and in the morning.

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on April 8, the weather in Ukraine will be determined by the rear part of a cyclone with its center to the east. Cold air masses will be present at altitudes, supplemented by new portions of cold from northern directions.
As forecasters predict, Wednesday will be cloudy with clear spells. Light rains will occur at night, with wet snow in places. The wind will blow from the northwest at a speed of 7-12 m/s. In the western, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr regions, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected in the afternoon.
The temperature at night will range from +1 to +6 degrees Celsius (frosts down to -3 degrees Celsius are possible on the ground, and in the air in Transcarpathia and the northeastern part of the country). During the day, temperatures up to +9 degrees Celsius are expected. Light snow will fall in the Carpathians, with temperatures at night and during the day ranging from 0 to -3 degrees Celsius.

Weather in Kyiv
In the Kyiv region and the city of Kyiv on April 8, it will be cloudy with clear spells. Rains, with wet snow in places, will occur during the day and at night.
The wind will blow from the northwest at a speed of 7-12 m/s. The temperature in the region at night will range from +1 to +6 degrees Celsius (ground frosts of 0 to -3 degrees Celsius are expected on the ground). During the day, thermometers will show from +4 to +9 degrees Celsius.
According to the weather portal Sinoptik, cloudy weather will persist in Kyiv until the evening of April 8. Light rain will fall all day and will not stop until the evening.
The air temperature will range from +3 degrees Celsius at night to +8 degrees Celsius during the day.

Weather in Odesa
On Wednesday, April 8, cloudy weather with occasional clear spells will prevail in Odesa and throughout the region. Light rain is expected during the day, which will mainly start in the morning in the city itself.
Temperature indicators will be quite contrasting: while at night the thermometers in the region will show from +1 to +6 degrees Celsius (around +4…+6 in Odesa), during the day the air will warm up to +12 degrees Celsius.
At the same time, meteorologists warn of winds with a speed of 12-14 m/s in the coastal zone, and moderate sea agitation is also expected. Despite the precipitation, visibility on the roads of the region will remain good.

Weather in Dnipro
In the Dnipropetrovsk region and directly in Dnipro on April 8, variable cloudiness is expected with no significant precipitation at night. However, forecasters have announced the first (yellow) level of danger due to night and morning frosts: throughout the region, including the regional center, the ground temperature will drop to -3 degrees Celsius.

The night will be quite cold – from 0 to +5 degrees Celsius is expected in the region (around +2…+4 degrees Celsius in Dnipro), and during the day the air will warm up to only +12 degrees Celsius.
Weather in Lviv
In the Lviv region on April 8, the weather will be determined by the passage of atmospheric fronts from the northwest. Forecasters predict cloudy weather with clear spells, while warning that wet snow and snow will fall at night and during the day.
In addition, ice will persist on the roads at night and in the morning. The wind will blow from the northwest at a speed of 7-12 m/s, with gusts up to 15-20 m/s also possible.
In Lviv and the region, severe frosts from 0 to -5 degrees Celsius are expected at night. The air temperature during the day will be from +3 to +8 degrees Celsius.
Weather in Kharkiv
In the Kharkiv region on April 8, it will be cloudy with occasional clear spells. While the night will pass without significant precipitation, light rain is expected during the day in both the region and Kharkiv itself. The wind is expected to be moderate north-westerly, within 5-10 m/s.
At the same time, forecasters have announced the second (orange) level of danger in the region. From April 8 to 11, severe air frosts are expected at night – the temperature will drop to -3 degrees Celsius.

During the day, the air will warm up to only +10 degrees Celsius in the region, while in the city, thermometers will show around +8 to +10 degrees Celsius.
Recall that winter weather has returned to Ukraine in April – snow has fallen in many regions. In addition, the bad weather has caused damage in several cities.
